Liberty Science Center – an active, engaging, family and child-centered 150,000-square-foot science center – was conceived to reach a broad metropolitan audience from its location in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty.
Donovan/Green was invited to work with LSC leadership years before opening to develop an identity and craft a voice befitting the overall tenor and educational philosophy. D/G helped establish exhibition guidelines for specific exhibition designers and develop standards for all dialogue. The resulting communication strategy covered all areas of audience outreach and interaction within the institution. Component parts included a basic institutional identity, symbol development and design, an environmental graphics and wayfinding system, marketing communications, fundraising, event and meeting solicitation, and sponsor-directed programs.
